Computer Art ala Picasso!

There are so many ways to be creative with a computer!  Here's a site where you can click and drag to create your very own Picasso-like portrait. This would be a fun activity for students after learning about the real Picasso!  Be sure to check out this site's "gallery" to see the fun others have had at PicassoHead.com!

1. Go to http://www.picassohead.com/create.html
2. Choose a head shape and drag it to your canvas.  You can make it bigger or smaller, flip it around, change the color or angle... you name it!
3. Then drag objects from the other categories to add your choice of eyes, noses, lips, hair and other features.  Tweak them as you did for the head to get them just the way you want. 
4. Finally, add your signature. Then save it to the PicassoHead Gallery and share it with your friends, or print it out and put it on the fridge!

    I've never heard of this site. Thanks so much for the link! It would have been fun when we did a little Picasso study with my 3 year old. (http://infantbibliophile.blogspot.com/2010/09/picasso-craft-for-preschool-set.html). I'll have to show it to him tomorrow. We used to like to play on jacksonpollock.org too.

    A.S., I got the pic by taking a screen shot.... on a mac it's command/shift/F/4. I'm not sure how you do it on a PC, but you could google it if you're a PC user. I use screen shots a lot!!

    My boys have been loving picasso head!! So fun. I plan on doing it with my 2nd graders tomorrow. Very fun.

    WE DID IT TODAY! It was fun... they loved it.

    Do you think I am crazy to now have them draw and paint what they choose?

    Also, any way to get them to print bigger? I could only get them to do a print page and they were tiny.

    Having them draw and paint their creations is a great idea, Anne! If you want it to print bigger, you could take a screen shot of it and drag it into iPhoto (if you're using a Mac) or other photo editing software, and then print from there. That's one way... there are probably other ways, too!
