4th grade "JOY" by Jacob |
For our school-wide Thanksgiving project, we decided to show our thanks to some very special people...
My K through 7th grade students have been busy making Christmas cards for Veterans, to spread some Christmas cheer and let these men and women know they are loved and appreciated!
The hundreds of cards we made will first be displayed at our church, where we'll collect dozens of signatures on each one. Then, the cards will be lovingly delivered to the VA hospitals in our region, just in time for Christmas. The best part of this project for me has been seeing how seriously our students are taking this opportunity! This is a way that they, as kids, can use their creativity to bless those who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom. Art projects like this can be a great way to get kids thinking beyond themselves and focusing on others, and what better time to do this than Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Thank you, Veterans!
Our Kinders learned how to draw stars for their cards! |
