Coming Soon!

Four years ago, I started Teach Kids Art with the goal of getting all my lesson plans online for others to use, so more kids could have Art in their life.  As my collection of lessons grew, I realized my site had to be better organized if anyone could ever hope to find what they were looking for!

So, with that in mind, I decided to move my site from Blogger to Wordpress.  There I would have more control and more options for cool things I could do with it!  Only problem is, I'm not the most "techy" person, so this little project of mine has taken much longer than it probably should have!

But with the help of Google and various online support forums, I'm getting it figured out.... and I'm close!  I'm adding lots of categories and tags to make my lessons more searchable and make Teach Kids Art the best resource it can be!

Through this process I've been learning a lot!  As teachers we're supposed to model life-long learning, right??  Learning something new and challenging can be frustrating at times, but the rewards are great!  Stay tuned, and when I get my new site launched, be sure to stop by and let me know what you think!

Let's hear from the rest of you life-long learners....
What things have you been learning lately?

  1. thank you. I love your site and I use it all the time with my homeschooling kids and their friends.

I recently began learning how to garden, how to use my crock pot, how to cook and eat wheat free, how to do DDP yoga (awesome workout) and so much more!!

I wish I had the time to learn so I could go from Google to WordPress, or from Google to my actual website. :( one day...

  3. I just stumbled across your blog...and love the ideas you have on here! My kids go to a very small public school, which as no art teacher =(...so I am working on bringing in an art docent program...and hope to at least do art in my kids' classrooms as well!

I'm not an art teacher, so your directions are clear and easy to follow, and you have good visuals! I am very excited.

    Thanks!

  5. I am very grateful to you and your site!! It is because of you I have found an endless supply of lessons for the children I teach out of my studio/garage! It is where I also found Magnets with a Mission for which we also had a charity fundraiser for the homeless here in Corona, CA where we live. I thank God for you always and wish you many blessings in your future endeavors! Thank you for your contributions. If you have time, I would be honored if you checked out my website as well as FB page, Garber Design Studio.com. I would like to hear your input as well!!

  6. This site is totallly awesome! My son's school does not have any art classes due to budget - last year in 1st grade, all he ever got was a piece of paper to draw on - no instruction or guidance or materials whatsoever! So this year, I'm going to plan my own art curriculum at home - but I am the least artistic person in the world. Thank you so much for putting this all together, I am looking forward to what you will do in the future.

  7. Thanks, Shannon! I'm so glad you recognize the importance of art education and are willing to do whatever it takes to help your son have art in his life! You're probably a lot more artistic than you think... you'll be growing and learning together! Enjoy!!
