Answers to (almost) All Your Art Questions

When I discover something new that I'm really excited about, I have to share it! One of my favorite websites is About.com. I've already blogged about their Art History site, but I've since discovered two more Art-related sites that they offer.... About.com:Painting and About.com:Drawing/Sketching.

If you have any interest in Art at all (and you wouldn't be reading this if you didn't), you can easily lose track of time exploring these pages! They're full of art demos and tutorials, tips for working with a variety of media, project ideas and much more. If you have questions related to painting or drawing, there's a good chance you'll find them answered here. These pages are geared more toward the adult artist, but it never hurts to add to your own Art knowledge, plus you'll find ideas and information you can use with your students as well. You'll have to put up with a little advertising (and an occasional typo), but there's so much good stuff here, it's well worth it!

Check out both of these sites and see what they have to offer. The photo above shows a fun project I found while perusing About.com:Painting, using a single 12 inch square of paper. Grades 4 and up would have a blast making these little books, and you could adapt it for a variety of different needs.... a unique holiday greeting card, maybe? After all, it is getting to be that time of year!
