Teacher Workshops

One of the fun projects we'll be doing at my "Watercolor Workshop for Teachers"!

If you're reading this blog, you probably agree that KIDS NEED ART!!! As more and more schools eliminate their Art programs due to budget cuts, we need to get creative in finding ways to keep Art in the school day.

To see that their students continue to have Art, many classroom teachers and parent volunteers are now teaching Art themselves, even though they may feel ill-equipped to do that. In response to this, I'm offering a series of "Art Workshops for Teachers" at one of our local art supply stores, Palace Art & Office Supply in Capitola, California. Each workshop will focus on a specific medium or subject area and will include helpful tips and techniques, hands-on activities, lesson plans and a "Certificate of Completion" to apply toward Professional Development hours.

If you live on California's Central Coast and would like to join us, my first workshop will be on Saturday, March 28th, and will focus on teaching successfully with watercolor (grades 1-6), even if you have no art background! A nominal fee will cover the cost of materials. For more information, contact Palace Art & Office Supply at 831-464-2700.

  2. I live in the desert about 2 hours or so from Azuza.
I know they have a good fine arts program there. I am trying to sway my teenage artist in that direction or towards Biola which also has a good fine arts program as well as other things many colleges don't.
